I never received my license, or I lost my license
You can easily get a new copy of your license automatically sent to you by email by entering your email address at: http://www.hashbangind.com/licenseLookup.php
How do I register iDeskCal?
To register iDeskCal you will first need your purchased license file.

If you need to purchase a license please visit the purchase page.
If you do not have your license, you can have it automatically sent to you by entering your email address at: http://www.hashbangind.com/licenseLookup.php

Your license will come by email in either zip format or as a standard license file. Either way, start by saving the attachment to your computer.
*If your license came in zip format (the file ends with a .zip) double click the file to extract your license.*
Once you have your license (file ending in .idcr) double click the license file to automatically open iDeskCal's Preferences and register for you.

You can also register by clicking on either the status bar image or the dock icon (depending on your setup) and then from the menu select 'Preferences'.

From within Preferences click on the Registration Tab.

Press the 'Select Registration File' button, which will bring up the standard Mac 'open file' window.
Locate where you saved your registration earlier, and double click on your registration file (or select it and click 'open')
This should register iDeskCal for you and show you the registered message.

How can I delete a calendar event?
iDeskCal does not currently support deleting calendar events.
Please use iCal to delete events.
Can iDeskCal start when I login to my computer?
Yes! Simply check the 'Start at Login' option from the 'General' tab within the Preferences.

I followed the steps above but iDeskCal isn't starting on login
There is a known issue with the with the way Apple has 3rd party applications start on login, that causes iDeskCal to not start on login for some users.

Many users have noted that the following work around solved this issue for them:

1. Open iDeskCal's preferences and make sure 'Start on Login' is unchecked
2. Drag the iDeskCal application from your Applications directory into your Dock
3. Once in the Dock, do a secondary click (Option-Click or Right-Click) on the iDeskCal icon in the Dock, and select 'Open at Login'.

iDeskCal should now start at login! You can now either leave iDeskCal in your dock, or simply drag it out of the Dock to remove it from the Dock.

We are looking into a way to make sure the standard method works for everyone.
How can I turn off the drop shadow below the text?
You can currently turn off the text drop shadows, however it only recommend it for advanced users, as Apple has a nasty bug in their Font Panel that is related to text shadows.

In the Preferences click on the Font's button, at the top of the font panel that shows up in the middle should be a big button with a 'T' on it and it should show with a blue hue. (Please note that in Snow Leopard '10.6' you might need to expand the font panel to be able to see the shadow controls.)
If you click this button, the blue hue should turn off, as well as your text shadows.

The problem is if you turn this back on, the text shadows will be REALLY large.
This is because even though we set the right value in the font panel, the font panels sliders (to the right of the button) do not get the right value.
It is possible to adjust the sliders to get a shadow similar if not the same to what we default too, by playing with those sliders, but it does take playing with them.

So if you are going to turn off the shadows, be aware of this in case you find you want the shadows again.

We have a bug report open with Apple, and now its just a waiting game....
Why are my delegate calendars not showing?
This unfortunately is a known issue with Apple's frameworks which they provide us to access the calendar data.
Since this is a problem at Apple's frameworks level it affects all 3rd party applications that use the calendar data.

We (along with many other developers) have submitted this bug to Apple, but unfortunately they have yet to fix it.

If this is something you would like to see them fix, we recommend that you also submit a bug report to Apple about this issue as Apple fixes bugs based on the amount of people who complain about it.
You can submit a bug report to Apple at the URL: https://bugreport.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/RadarWeb.woa/wa/signIn
You can login using your Apple ID (which should be the same username and password that you use in iTunes).
When you create a new bug report feel free to use the exact same info (copy and paste) from one of our bug reports on the issue, which you can find at: http://openradar.appspot.com/7077307

The one change we recommend is to change the Classification on your report to be "Serious Bug" instead of the "Enhancement" that is shown in that report.
Once submitted, chances are that it will be marked as "Duplicate" but that is ok as it still adds another voice to the fact that this needs to be fixed.
